COMPLETE SURRENDER

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7

This past week I, like many others, have been faced with the inevitability of my morality. No moment, but the present one is promised to any of us. We’d all love to believe that we’ll live to be 100, and we have all the time in the world to achieve our goals. However, the honest truth is we don’t, we could walk out of our homes today and never return again. I’m not saying this to be morbid, but to truly put things into perspective. People often tell me that I’m fearless, but the truth is I’m not as fearless as I could be. I often hold myself back from fully diving into things, because I’m afraid of what the outcome may be. I prevent myself from completely taking on new ventures, because I want the security of the present…

But no more. No more thinking about all the things that could go wrong. It’s time for a paradigm shift, and I’m jumping in head first to the potential of my future. I’ve been blessed with the ability to hold space for others, to encourage them through hard times, to show them their strength and enable them to push past their limits.I’m able to see the potential in others sometimes when they don’t even yet see it in themselves.

I’m over playing it safe, and overthinking everyone else’s perspectives. I know what my purpose in life is and I plan to pursue it with true faith and surrender. Now this by no means suggest that I want fail or falter or have moments of defeat, but it does mean that I’ll use each negative in my life to birth a positive. It means that I’ll fully subscribe to the notion that life isn’t meant to be easy, but every unfortunate event is meant to prepare you for your ultimate purpose.

I’m not sure who needs this note today, but if you’re struggle between two worlds and know that there is more you’re destined to do, explore that idea. Challenge yourself to see your full potential. Ask yourself, what would I do if I had no fear and was completely connected to my higher power? Ask, what could I achieve if I stopped worrying about what everyone else thought & started to explore what I really wanted? These aren’t easy questions. Changing your paradigm doesn’t happen overnight, but once you begin the journey to self-discovery, you will find your life to be less daunting & more fulfilling. #gobegreat
